Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE)

Analysing the tick for TBE (tick-borne encephalitis)

The TBE analysis includes two analyses – firstly the verification that it is really a tick (Ixodes ricinus) and whether the tick contains TBE viruses. Both analyses are carried out at RNA and DNA level using the real-time PCR method.

The analysis takes a maximum of three working days after arrival of the tick.
